I recently ran into a annoying snot of an anonymous commenter. Their views were sacrosanct and of course CORRECT while my opinion was insulting. The whole purpose of exchanging ideas is that each person gets to express their views and beliefs. You don't have to accept the other persons position BUT they have as much right to express their beliefs as you do. If you want to call evolution SILLY, that is your right. Do I think your position is WRONG, yes I do but I would never insist that you change your views to suit me. On the other hand I have every right to express my view that the Bible is a collection of myths and fairy tales especially on my own blog. If you don't like it the solution is simple, don't visit my blog and kindly refrain from sending me threatening emails insisting that I have to retract my views to please you.
Right on!!!!!! You hit the nail on the head. Your blog - your rules. And rule # 1 : say what you want on your blog.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, if you don't like it, don't read it. Your blog is your space and if they don't like it, they need to move on.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this post.I found lots of interesting information here. And thanks for sharing it's really wonderful and useful =)))
ReplyDeleteVery good post! Thanks a lot.
ReplyDeleteI Like this post! Thanks for useful information!
ReplyDeleteWhile I do disagree with your beliefs about the Bible, you absolutely have a right to your own opinions and belifs---and the right to express them. This is YOUR blog. I express my opinions on my own blog and appreciate the ability to do so. BTW, I enjoy your blog. Wouldn't this world be a boring place if we all were alike?
ReplyDeleteIt would be very boring if we were all alike.
ReplyDeleteBy being tolerant of everyone's beliefs and allowing them to express them, we can all learn something. Sometimes the new knowledge requires us to adjust our beliefs and sometimes it strengths beliefs we already have. But being willing to listen to someones point of view even when it is different then ours allows us to grow in ways we could never imagine.
Thanks for the kind words Boo and Kari
Blogs are so interactive where we get lots of informative on any topics...... nice job keep it up !!
ReplyDelete0k, so this will show up as anonymous, but that's the only way my phone will let me post. Could be a malfunctioning operator. ;) While I do, believe in the Bible, I am sure that in that same Bible, it says to not judge others, to love others, and to live in unity with others. It also says if YOU (as in crabby anonymous poster) offend, or even think you have offended, YOU apologize. Im still looking for a passage that says if you are offended, demand an apology. Keep in mind, I am not an expert or scholar, but I do have a high IQ, so I am comfortable with what I have read and understood it to say. This is just my opinion, but if I am wrong, and you are right, my beliefs have harmed no one, and when I die, oh well. Same goes for you if you are wrong and I am right, you will have all the answers then. But while we are still alive and well, why waste time trolling blobs looking for a fight. Go start your own blog for people like yourself, and leave the rest of us to search out information where we will. Your beliefs wont change what I truly believe, and since I find good info here, I will enjoy popping in as needed. Sorry, wasn't planning to say all that. By the way, I am Rhonda, not anonymous!

ReplyDeleteThanks Rhonda, sorry your comment took so long to show up. It got stuck in the SPAM folder which I forget about and can't access from my Kindle Fire anyway (not sure why).
